Surah Al-Hashr Verse 22-24

The last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr contain their own virtues and benefits. They encompass the greatest names of Allah in the last six verses of Surah Al-Hashr. The mention of the most beautiful names of Allah describes His attributes that make Him the Lord. He is the Supreme Creator and worthy of worship. By remembering Allah, our hearts are trained to become conscious and aware because we are His servants.

Last Three Verses Of Surah Al-Hashr In Arabic Text:

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ ۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْقُدُّوسُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُ ٱلْمُهَيْمِنُ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْجَبَّارُ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُ ٱلْبَارِئُ ٱلْمُصَوِّرُ ۖ لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

• Huwal-laahul-lazee laaa Ilaaha illaa Huwa ‘Aalimul Ghaibi wash-shahaada; Huwar Rahmaanur-Raheem

• Huwal-laahul-lazee laaa Ilaaha illaa Huwal-Malikul Quddoosus-Salaamul Muminul Muhaiminul-‘aAzeezul Jabbaarul-Mutakabbir; Subhaanal laahi ‘Ammaa yushrikoon

• Huwal Laahul Khaaliqul Baari ‘ul Musawwir; lahul Asmaaa’ul Husnaa; yusabbihu lahoo maa fis samaawaati wal ardi wa Huwal ‘Azeezul Hakeem

   

The Special Virtues and Benefits of the Last Three Verses of Surah Al-Hashr

When practiced by reciting the last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr (Verses 21-24) after Fajr and Asr prayers or during the morning and evening hours, it will:

1. Receive the mercy of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He).

    

2. Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) commands the angels to continuously send blessings upon the reciter.

    

3. If one were to die on that day, they would be considered a martyr.

    

4. They will be facilitated to enter Paradise after death.

    

Evidence regarding the virtues of the last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr:

1. Fadhil Ibnu Yassar Al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites ‘A’udhu billahi as-Sami’il ‘Alimi min ash-Shaitanir-Rajim’ after Fajr prayer and then recites the last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) will assign seventy thousands angels to send blessings upon them until evening. Likewise, if it is recited after Asr prayer and the person dies on that day, they will be considered a martyr.”

    

2. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites the last verse of Surah Al-Hashr, whether at night or during the day, and then dies on that day, they will enter Paradise.” (Hadith narrated by Al-Baihaqi)

    

3. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites the last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) will assign seventy thousand angels to send blessings upon them until evening. If the person dies on that day, they will die as a martyr. And whoever recites them in the evening, they will receive the same reward.” (Hadith narrated by At-Tirmidhi)

    

Although the above hadiths are considered weak, we can believe in and practice them due to the blessings of the Divine Names contained within them and the intention of seeking Allah’s pleasure. By simply reciting these easy last three verses of Surah Al-Hashr (verses 22-24), the angels will send blessings. May we receive the intercession of these blessings to help us enter Paradise in the hereafter. InshaAllah.

English Translation:

• He is Allah—there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him: Knower of the seen and unseen. He is the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

   

• He is Allah—there is no god except Him: the King, the Most Holy, the All-Perfect, the Source of Serenity, the Watcher ˹of all˺, the Almighty, the Supreme in Might, the Majestic. Glorified is Allah far above what they associate with Him ˹in worship˺!

   

• He is Allah: the Creator, the Inventor, the Shaper. He ˹alone˺ has the Most Beautiful Names. Whatever is in the heavens and the earth ˹constantly˺ glorifies Him. And He is the Almighty, All-Wise.
